An estimated 214,861 migrants and refugees entered Europe by sea in 2016 through June 22 – arriving in Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Spain – the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said Friday.
According to the organisation, 2,861 people have died so far this year while trying to reach Europe, compared with 1,838 through the first six months of 2015.
